Weekend Wrap Up

I had a really great weekend.  I thought it would be great to do a Weekend Wrap Up post.

On Friday, I spent time working on some yoga and stretching exercises.  I am firm to get back into the habit of mindful motivation and being in the present. It is so easy to get distracted by problems around us and that can make us forget to savor every moment of life. I’ll be writing a post on this soon and how to do it.

After doing some yoga and folding up some laundry (yes had to get that out of the way), I worked up on some blog content. I have some ideas I am really excited about and can’t wait to share with you.

I used the rest of the day to catch up on some errands and write a new set of affirmations. I stick these around places  I frequent most in my apartment – like my room and my closet.

My favorite quote is this sentence that was part of my letter to my sister:

This morning I woke up to a delicious breakfast made by my sister. I mean who can say no to fresh toast, a kale omelette and mimosas on a Saturday morning??

Later on that day,  my sister and I drove up to Atlanta to visit my other sister and visit places that I don’t always get the chance to.

On Sunday morning, we woke up in the big city of Atlanta. I love visiting Atlanta because there is so much to see and do. But what of one of the cons that stops me from moving there – the traffic. I absolutely hate it.

The first place my sisters and I went to Wet Willie’s for lunch.  If you read my blog post on my trip to Savannah – you’ll know  this was one of my favorite places to eat at. I mean their wings and frozen drinks are to die for.

Look at that menu so many choices to choose from.

This time I went for the drink – Shock Treatment. It is described as an electrifying drink made up of blue curacao, lemonade and grain alcohol.

And let me tell you this drink really “shocks your senses and taste buds”. Not at all for the weak or the lightweights.  While my sister went  with the Bob Marley Drink – very colorful:

I ordered the lemon pepper chicken sandwich. The sandwich was nice and juicy and came with a huge amount of fries.

You are probably wondering if I got any wings? I did – I got them as a to go order so I could savor them later.

A toast to  our sisterhood.

We then headed back to my other sister’s apartment to laze around and catch up on sisterly things. I mean what better thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?

Around dinner time we headed back out to eat.  We chose Outback.

Still recovering from our earlier food excursion we skipped the appetizer and headed straight to the main meal.  This time I chose the Royal Port Tilapia with side of mixed vegetables.

It is described as fresh seared tilapia topped with mushroom, green onions and creole sauce.  That creole sauce is amazing – and very flavor.  In addition I got a strawberry lemonade.

All in this was a greet weekend with a good amount of time to relax and unwind from work and spend time with family.

Who loves mimosas? I’ll be sharing one of my recipes with you on Wednesday!
